Preparation and Cloth Cutting

Preparation and cloth cutting is the first step in crafting a garment.  In this part of the program, you will learn the skills and techniques to properly plan, lay, and chalk the pattern, incorporate inlays, cut the various cloths for your suit, and finally mark stitch.

Key Point
  • As you work your way through the various lessons, it’s strongly recommended that you read through the lesson introductions, watch the videos (several time if need be), and use the written materials as a guide before picking up your tools to start work.  Tailoring takes time and patience to master.  So, if you are not satisfied with your work, then do it again until you are.

what you will learn
