Welcome to the Craftsman Level, where advanced tailoring skills are honed to perfection. At this stage, you’ll focus on mastering the art of bespoke drafting and tailoring a British-style jacket/coat. This level is designed to help you refine your pattern drafting and hand-tailoring techniques by introducing you to several style variations and the complexities of soft-structured tailoring. It’s the ideal step for those who want to achieve sartorial success in coatmaking.

This course is ideal for:

  • Individuals with significant tailoring experience or those who have completed the Apprentice level
  • Students who want to focus on mastering bespoke jacket construction.
  • Aspiring professional tailors aiming to refine their garment construction and hand-tailoring techniques.

What You Will Learn:

  • Master advanced pattern drafting techniques for single and double-breasted jackets/coats.
  • Execute precise laying and cutting for a jacket/coat. Learn to apply
  • Learn to apply soft-structured tailoring techniques in their most advanced form to canvases, collars, sleeves, and more.
  • Master complex jacket hand-finishing techniques.

By completing the Craftsman level, you’ll have the skills to:

  • Completion of a British-style jacket/coat, meeting the ABTA Sartorial Standards of Excellence™.
  • Ability to draft and tailor for single and double-breasted jackets/coats
  • Confidence in applying complex soft-structured tailoring and finishing techniques.
